Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology uses a fraction of the energy compared with other conventional lighting. LED's last considerably longer than traditional lighting- up to 70,000 hours, compared to 8,000 for a CFL or 1,000 for standard incandescent bulbs. Thus reducing maintenance costs and the need for replacement lamps.
LED's work by channeling electric current through a semi-conductor material, 100 per cent of which is turned intovisible light, without producing any waste heat.
LED's generate a very low energy consumption, last a considerablely long time, don’t contain harmful mercury and ultimately reduce carbon emissions.
They also do not create any infrared or ultraviolet light, they don’t attract bugs and can be effectively utilized for many outdoor applications..
