| The Ballast or control gear generates electrical current and sends it to the Induction Coil located around the specially designed lamp. This in turn generates an electromagnetic field within the lamp which reacts with the amalgam to produce UL rays. The UL rays then excite the phosphorus coating on the inside of the lamp tube to produce visible light.As Lifetime Environmental Induction Lamps do not contain filaments or ignitors like traditional High Intensity Discharge lamps, their life is dramatically increased |
